Advanced Eye Screening
Detecting major medical conditions can now be achieved through a simple examination of your eyes. Our RetiCam 3100 Plus ultra wide-field fundus camera allows us to capture incredibly detailed images of the back of your eye, called the fundus, helping us to monitor your eye health more effectively than ever before. The RetiCam 3100 Plus is a special camera designed to take high-definition (HD) images of the inside of your eye. What makes it truly remarkable is its ultra wide-field view, capturing a single image up to an amazing 176°! This provides us with a much broader picture of your retina, optic nerve, and blood vessels than traditional cameras, allowing for a more thorough examination.
In addition to this, we have access to the Revo 3D OCT machine. This revolutionary diagnostic tool provides unparalleled imaging of the deep layers of your retina and optic nerve, ensuring the most accurate and detailed assessment possible. The REVO OCT Vision Wellness exam provides a complete assessment of the retina and automatically compares it to a database of normal eyes to determine if there are any abnormal findings.
Our team of experienced optometrists is adept at interpreting the results of these ultra wide-field images and 3D OCT scans, enabling them to identify potential complications and conditions early on, and recommend the most suitable treatments accordingly.
To establish a baseline measurement of your initial eye health and facilitate the early detection of any changes, we recommend undergoing an ultra wide-field and 3D OCT scan during your first appointment.
Furthermore, regular monitoring through repeated ultra wide-field images and 3D OCT scans allows us to continually preserve and safeguard your eye health and vision. The frequency of these follow-up scans is tailored to your age and initial results.
Through ultra wide-field images and 3D OCT scans, we can detect a variety of conditions, including glaucoma, damage to the optic nerve caused by fluid pressure within the eye; central serous retinopathy, resulting in blurred vision due to fluid accumulation under the macula; age-related macular degeneration, the leading cause of sight loss in developed countries; and diabetic retinal changes, such as macular oedema, characterised by fluid buildup beneath the retina.
